Archie and I shall be there - really looking forward to it. I'm sure Arch has been dreaming of that last walk - his legs and nose have been twitching so much in his sleep just lately!

I saw this posted on DP and wanted to ask those attending if it would be ok for us to join you on a walk (it may not be this time)
My lads not very big but he does seem to find dogs bigger than him intimidating and really needs more experience with friendly large breeds to learn that nothing bad happens around them.
He can come across as boisterous and sometimes barks if big dogs get excited but he just needs to be in the general area onlead to learn nothing bad happens for him to feel comfortable and many owners dont give him a chance.

Please do say if you feel he would disrupt the group, 'if' he did get too ott we would leave or hang back to a distance he can cope with but I dont anticipate him being too bad after his initial excitement hes by no means as unsure as he was in the past and hes a lot better in bigger groups.

it would be great to have you join us on the walks ,, there is lots of different types of dogs on the walk , from tiny little things to very large dogs ,,,
as for being boisterour , don,t let that stop you ,, , he will have a great time

(and i bet he,s not as bad as one of my dogs) lol!

He does need to learn not to bee 'too' boisterous even when other dogs are being because he has a thickening of the knee from an old cruciate injury and he has spondylosis (as well as lupus and epilepsy Shocked ) but that doesnt stop him or me wanting him to live his life to the full and learn manners like any other dog.
Hes very respectful of small dogs because he doesnt feel intimidated, even if they snap at him but we just dont see enough bigger than him whos owners will take the time to let him get used to their dogs, those that do he loves to play with.

The walks have 3 main reasons.

1. To raise money for LBDR (and £1 doesn't go far these days, but it is money well spent for 2 hours of fun and chatting with like minded people)
2. To socialise the dogs
3. To socialise the owners!

As Bill says we have diminutive chihuahuas, pugs, collies, GSD's, bullbreeds-a-plenty, everything you could think of. We welcome all breeds.

If you have any concerns, please make yourself known to one of us, and we will help. Even if it's just walking with you a little distant from the pack, or linking you with a bomb-proof dog. Ivan our friendly vet will be there as well, so we can cover most eventualities!

Hope to see you there.

I went on the Mote Park walk for the first time in March and, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed you made the decision to go along. The dogs become very spread out and you (or your dog) can choose to walk alone, with a small group or mix with the pack! Archie tried to play with every dog and I was very impressed how well they all got on, be they giants or miniatures. If there were any aggressive dogs there, their owners kept them very well under control. Whatever pace or company you choose, you will be made very welcome.

Archie and I are very much looking forward to Sunday - bandanna all nicely pressed (not!); I never did manage to wash all the mud out of it from last time!

We had a lovely walk today thankyou everyone, it was nice to see so many people meet up thumbs
Michigan had to stay onlead because his pills make him eat eeeverything edible or not but he did pretty well today and seemed to enjoy meeting the bigger dogs except when they went in the water because thats just scary and dangerous lol (Mich cant swim)
He does enjoy being around other dogs so its so nice to be able to walk with people in a relaxed environment.

We'll hopefully see you at the next one big smile
