Hi everyone

Hope everyone is well just writing to tell you some up dates.
Jen is am angel as we all know... Looking forward to having our first Christmas together
She has only had her bed 5 months and because she's so spoilt she will know be having a second bed for crimbo and all other treats like she deserves.

We sadly spoke to shaun the other day due to sadly Jen did bite a dog the other day but it was not all jens fault..
On the approach of the situation the other dog did show its teeth to her and was running towards her apart of that I had a quite a bit of a vet bill to pay but the situation is now sorted.
She now has to wear a muzzle every time she goes out which she is really not impressed about but I'm sure in time she will get used to the idea but we are going to put her into training classes ASAP.

On another note she is just a princess and we all love her to bits and she can also sing now it's so lovely.
Was going to see whether I could upload a video of her on here? But not sure whether it would work?
Also will be uploading new pictures of her within the next few days.

So sorry you had a problem with Jen and another dog, although if the other dog was showing it's teeth I myself could not blame her completely, lets hope the other dog is now OK and the owner of that dog will take it to training

It is a shame she is having to use a muzzle but until you get her to the classes and get this under control then it is the safest thing for her to keep her out of trouble

We look forward to photos and videos, the video you can upload to photobucket and copy over the same way as you do photos

Please get her to socialisation classes as soon as you are able and if you can't get her to Shaun we will be happy to let you know if the training methods the trainer you decide on would be beneficial to both you and her if you send us their details, please choose one that uses positive reinforcement and if the say about choke chain do not use them

Yes shame about the other dog. You cant control everyone else and their dogs unfortunately. Training classes and walks with other dogs whenever possible is the way to go.

When I first got Brian he bounded up to another dog and squashed them. No teeth, no growling, nothing nasty just pinned him down on the floor and the dogs owner had to pull him off. Very embarrasing for me and lots of apologising. I never want to be in that situation ever again.

I was walking Brian the other day and a lady came towards us with a great dane bitch. She called out to me "Is he friendly?" I said yes she said " Is he castrated?" I said yes. Thinking why is she asking me that. As she got closer she said her bitch was in season and she doesnt like having her bottom sniffed. Any way Brian bless him went a bit bannas (all 76 kilos of him) but thanks to our training classes and the halti I managed to keep him away.

We need more "Shauns" dotted around the country! Love to see more pictures and video of Jen when you can.

Hope you are all well. Brian is lovely is he a rescue and how old is he?
He's a little stunner. Jen has a dog friend and plays with him and she is fine with him but maybe it's because
He is a pup but runs around with him and wags her tail.. Bless her.
She has a muzzle but I have to take it back and she can still pull it off which is not good.. Have you heard of the
Material muzzles being good? As may have to get her one of them as I know American bullmastiff say there suppose to be good but I don't want her to keep pulling it off.

We have a couple of doggy classes her so we are all going to make her to that with jens doggy friend, and have a muzzle on Jen and just go for it and if she plays up she will come straight home. We are looking at training for her but obv want to go for the best. If I use water on her like ie a dog come towards her and splash her with water when I feel she starts putting her hackles, do you think she will think I'm hurting her? Because I haven't tried it and I don't want her to think I am hurting her.

The water will not hurt her but it does tell her

If she plays up at training then don't bring her home she will not learn, make sure it is a trainer that uses positive reinforcement if they have a web set post up a link for us to look into, if they insist on using choke collar or electric collars then stay well away

I myself do not like the material muzzle they cap still nip with one of those and in hot weather will have trouble breathing

Have a look at this link for the muzzle there is one that has a strap over the head as well which will give better fit they also ask for dog measurement so you will get the one that is best for her, these are the muzzles that I myself prefer and are better than any I have ever seen on the market, yes they are expensive but you should never have to get another one

The water definately wont hurt her its about getting her attention back to you. A good muzzle whilst she socialises will be a confidence giver for you and hopefully a tranistional phase for her while she learns not all other dogs are a threat. Shes such a love to people I have everything crossed that she will chill out with other dogs.

Brian is about 2 and half now and boundy! Very light on his feet for someone his size, but a sweetheart. Wants to sit on your lap but thats not going to happen! x

Sorry have not uploaded more photos of Jen. I am on my new iPad and have not quite got used to using it yet but will use my mum laptop to upload photos on the forum. What lovely pictures you have of Jen they are lovely. We are so gifted to have a lovely girl in our life.. We love her so much and can't explain how such a good girl she is.

Is Brian your dog Tracey? Did you get him from large dog breed?
How long have you had him? Is he a bullie or a mastiff?
He is lovely and looks so huge..

She is such a beauty

Had Brian about 5 months now and yes hes huge but a sweetheart! Like you did with Jen, i saw a photo of him read his sad story and was smitten!

He came through the Old English Mastiff Club and when he arrived I did panic that he was too big for me to keep, but can't imagine life without him now.

Keep the updates coming love seeing pics of jen all happy and settled. x

Hope you all well and had a lovely Christmas.
Jen is doing very well.. I have lots of photos to upload later.
We had a letter today re her microchip and it states her birthday is June 2007.
We are all quite upset due to we decided to have her birthday in January and on Friday we
Celebrated her 4th birthday. I have photos to put upload but obviously now we know
She is 6 in June. Quite sad really as we know they are short lifed. She is so amazing and such a good girl.
I have about 50 photos to upload lol Keep an eye out will post either today or tomorrow.
