Izzy is 2 years old and has been in the rescue system for a year, she has now joined us here from the DDA watch team

Loves toys, playing ball, and we are told a loving bomb proof girl

Dogs Name: Izzy Breed: Bull Breed X Sex: F Age: 2yrs Date: 29/06/2012
SITUATION Dogs reactions
Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Izzy has no problems with people and food
Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Izzy allows you to pick up her food bowl with no unwanted behaviours
Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Izzy moves quickly towards the treat once covered she tries to get the treat but shows no unwanted behaviours
Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding
Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Izzy loves playing with a toy she sees it as a game of tug of war when you try and take it off her however no aggression shown
Person reaches hand towards dog Izzy has no problems with hands going toward her she actively looks for affection
Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above
Person tries to put on leash and/or collar No problems shown
Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Izzy showed no unwanted behaviours
Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Same as above
Person hugs dog around neck Izzy sees this as an invitation to play and rolls onto her back
Person pushes down on dog’s back Izzy sees this as an invitation of play in a very nice way
Person pushes down on dog’s rump Same as above
Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command Izzy knows this command
Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing Izzy will eventually go into a down but it is all about play
Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation Izzy sees this as a game
Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet) Izzy is very accepting of the brush and loves to be groomed
Person touches dog’s feet Izzy has no problems with her feet being touched
Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Not tested
Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not tested
Person tries to open dog’s mouth Izzy easily allows you to open her mouth and put your hand in her mouth
Person stares into dog’s eyes Izzy will hold eye contact for a few seconds and then break away
Person shouts loudly near dog Izzy will look in the direction and will approach the person shouting showing appeasing behaviours
Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Izzy does not understand this
Person drops an object near dog Izzy does not show a startled response but goes over to investigate the item
Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Izzy will bark but stops when asked
Stranger enters house Izzy started to bark but wags her tail and looks for affection
Stranger in house tries to pet dog Izzy has shown no unwanted behaviours
Stranger approaches dog in car Izzy just wags her tail looking for affection
Stranger approaches dog on street
Izzy wants to say hello and see if she can get some affection
Another person touches or hugs person with dog No unwanted behaviours
Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence No unwanted behaviours
Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Izzy will ignore the other dog
Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog Same as above
Dog walks past familiar reactive dog Same as above
Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog Same as above
Izzy, is a playful girl who loves attention, she can sometimes become over excited and try to jump up and also if allowed she will try to play tug with toys. Izzy has ignored most dogs but she has only been her a few days. All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.

Based on recent history I think we need to start christening all the girls Izzy given that the other Izzy went even faster than this one!
