| Spent a little time with Jessie on saturday, letting her get used to new folk , being petted, walked and also that wheel barrows arent as scary as they first seem. She is a lovely girl, who has clearly not had good experiences with those who should have been kinder to her. 100% sure that LBDR will turn this around for her and bring back her joy of life | |

| Dogs Name: Jessie Breed: Boerboel Sex: F Age: 14mths Date: 28/05/2012 SITUATION Dogs reactions Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Jessie appears to have no issues with people moving around her food bowl Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Jessie has no issues with people picking up her food bowl and stop eating immediately and does not try to snatch it Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Jessie rushes towards the treat once it is covered she shows a few problem solving exercises but then leaves the treat alone Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding Jessie was given a bone she shoed no real interest and easily gave it up Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Jessie is quite happy to bring toys back to you for your to throw it for her Jessie loves playing with people but will not play on her own Person reaches hand towards dog Jessie unpredictable in her response when a hand is moved towards her she may nuzzle it and look for affection other times she will shire away from hand and show appeasing behaviours Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above Person tries to put on leash and/or collar Jessie is quite calm and easily allows you to put on a lead or collar Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Jessie has no problems with you holding onto her collar Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Jessie can show slight appeasing behaviours when you tug on her collar Person hugs dog around neck Jessie appears to be fine with hugs around the neck she seems to love the affection Person pushes down on dog’s back Jessie sees this as an initiation of play no aggression shown and will try to chase and bite her tail Person pushes down on dog’s rump Same as above Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command Jessie does not appear to know this command at all Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing Jessie again tries to chase and bite her tail Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation Jessie easily allows you to roll her onto her back and loves a belly rub Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet) Jessie perceives the brush as a toy and tries to mouth it Person touches dog’s feet or uses comb or scissors on dog’s feet If Jessie is standing she tries to pull her paw away no aggression shown, if she is lying on the ground she sees it as an initiation of a game and tries to mouth your hand Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Nails very short so not tested Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not tested Person tries to open dog’s mouth Jessie easily allows tou to open her moth and put your hand in Person stares into dog’s eyes Jessie has no problem with fixing and holding eye contact she shows no aggression Person shouts loudly near dog Jessie looks in the general direction and shows slight appeasing behaviours no aggression shown Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Jessie shows no issues and no problems Person drops an object near dog Jessie shows slight startled response and then goes to investigate the item Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Jessie looks towards the door with interest but shows no aggressive tendancies Stranger enters house Jess moves towards to investigate but does not show any aggression Stranger in house tries to pet dog Jessie showed no problems or issues Stranger approaches dog in car Stranger approaches dog on street Once Jessie has had time to adapt to a new situation she appears to be friendly to most new people, however if she is with new with new owners she she will need time to get to know them and adjust before being put into to many new situations Another person touches or hugs person with dog Jessie shown on issues or problems Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence Jessie looks in the general direction and shows slight appeasing behaviours no aggression shown Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Jessie will quite happily ignore and walk past if she knows that dog doesn’t want to play with her. Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog Jessie is very keen to meet all dogs, she barks alit but this is done in frustration and to initiate play. Dog walks past familiar reactive dog If a dog is being reactive toward her Jessie will rush towards to fight with them. This is only due to a fear response. Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog Same as above Jessie is a wonderful dog, at first she can be a little fearful of her new surroundings but after a little bit of time and positive experiences Jessie adapts well. With other dogs that are not showing aggression towards Jessie, she can be full on with barking and pulling towards them trying to initiate play. I recommend that Jessie needs a lot of on lead controlled socialisation with other dogs and taught how to greet them correctly. All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.

| Loving Jessie - really seeing her character come out now.
Shes a cheeky little thing, she looks at you and you can see the twinkle in her eyes then shes suddenly throwing herself on the floor and rolling around in the grass.
Shes walking really well on the gentle leader and hardly needs any reminders.
Hope you find a home real soon Jess where your personality can really come out & shine xx
