| We have Bonnie a Bullmastiff arriving with us tomorrow, sounds very much like our wonderful Bonnie
She has been in boarding kennels for the past eight months owner has not collected her, she is reported to be very loving and affectionate, gets along with other dogs but shows a bit to much interest in guinea pigs and chickens
Bonnie will be spayed and start vacs on Saturday

| How awful, how could anybody leave their dog like that, beggars belief. She sounds so lovely as well. Good luck Bonnie, your forever home is out there somewhere x | |

| Dogs Name: Bonnie Breed: Bull Mastiff Sex: F Age: Date: 30/07/2012 SITUATION Dogs reactions Person casually walks past dog while dog is eating (meal or special food) Bonnie has very good food manners and has no problem with people around her food bowl Person tries to pick up bowl while dog is eating (meal or special food) Soon as her food bowls touched Bonnie backs away and stops eating. Person tries to pick up food that has fallen to floor while dog is trying to reach it Bonnie moves forwards towards the treat, once it is covered she investigates then leaves it. Person tries to touch or take away high value food that dog is eating or holding Bonnie easily allows you to take the high value treat away from her once she is eating it. Person tries to touch or take away a toy that dog is playing with Bonnie seems to show little interest in toys. Person reaches hand towards dog Bonnie shows no issues or problems. Person reaches over dog’s head Same as above, Bonnie is very accepting of affection. Person tries to put on leash and/or collar Bonnie showed a little bit of excitement but easily allows you to put it on. Person grabs at dog’s collar or neck Bonnie shows light appeasing behaviours once her collar is touched, but no unwanted behaviours. Person pulls on dog’s collar or neck Same as above. Person hugs dog around neck Bonnie shows slight appeasing behaviours but is very accepting. Person pushes down on dog’s back Bonnie goes into sit and shows no unwanted behaviours. Person pushes down on dog’s rump Same as above. Person tries to get dog to lie down by voice command Bonnie knows this command and will go into the down. Person tries to get dog to lie down by physical pushing Bonnie resists going into the down but doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours. Person tries to get dog to roll over on its back by physical manipulation Bonnie resists being rolled onto her back but doesn’t show any unwanted behaviours at all. Person tries to groom dog’s head , torso, or legs (ie other than feet) Bonnie is very accepting of the brush and shows no unwanted behaviours. Person touches dog’s feet Bonnie has no problems with her feet being touched and will give you paw on command. Person clips or tries to clip dog’s toenails Not tested. Person tries to bathe dog, including towelling off after bath Not tested. Person tries to open dog’s mouth Bonnie easily allows you to open up her mouth and shows no unwanted behaviours. Person stares into dog’s eyes Bonnie will hold eye contact for a few seconds then look away. Person shouts loudly near dog Bonnie looks in general direction but is not fazed. Person threatens dog with object such as newspaper or with hand Bonnie understands this and cowers, once the threat is removed she is happy to have a stroke. Person drops an object near dog Bonnie shows slight start response and then investigates object. Stranger knocks on door or rings bell at dog's home Bonnie has shown no reaction. Stranger enters house Bonnie is very calm and happy to see people. See can be wary around men at first but once she knows they are no threat she is fine Stranger in house tries to pet dog Bonnie is very accepting of any attention but doesn’t attention seek, Stranger approaches dog in car Stranger approaches dog on street Bonnie can be a little reserved but does not show any unwanted behaviours. Another person touches or hugs person with dog No unwanted behaviour shown. Stranger shouts loudly in dog’s presence Bonnie shows no reaction. Dog walks past familiar non reactive dog Bonnie so a mixture of slight excitement and appeasing behaviours but in general will ignore the dog Dog walks past unfamiliar non reactive dog Same as above Dog walks past familiar reactive dog Bonnie will ignore these dogs and happily walk past Dog walks past unfamiliar reactive dog Same as above Bonnie appears to be a very stable dog, that doesn’t show much reaction to anything apart from being a little wary of men initial. She is very eager to please and very treat motivated. It has been reported that Bonnie doesn’t like small animals?? All these behaviours were shown at the time of this assessment conducted by Shaun Aldridge (Ruff Diamond Dog Training); however these behaviours may change in different circumstances.

| Thanks to Diesels family for bringing her up to us. Okay, well Bonnie has been with us for a week now, and she's been absolutely perfect, especially considering what's happened. She was pretty subdued the first couple of days as to be expected. Then Sunday morning we woke to a crate filled with vomit and bloody diarrhoea. Then at the vets we discover the poor girl is having a phantom pregnancy and lactating..... so a couple of massive jabs and rest ,plus bland food.... The messy symptoms probably just a mild bug, with exaggerated effects from her stressful few days and the pregnancy. Monday, still loose , but no blood and no vomit... afternoon vet visit.. temp close to normal, another big jab and five days of anti biotics... plus a week of bland food!!!!. and no strenuous exercise for a another day. Well its Wednesday afternoon. all is improving , went on a decent jaunt this morning and she was impeccable with humans and dogs of all sizes. Then stop off at brother in laws, for tea, coffee and the odd not too bland tit bit. She was pretty much perfect entering a strange house and meeting strangers. Travels really well. (There only tied up briefly for a human toilet break, and there were big lorries resurfacing the car park...) At last got a new camera, so tried it out... but daughter insisted on trying out the arty stuff | |
