great to hear he had a good time, really looking forward to the pictures, as paternal grandmother from Glen Sannox , spent quite a few happy summers on the Island and sugar highs on the tablet.

Finally got round to getting the pictures off the girls' cameras. Glen Sannox is lovely - we've walked up there often in the past although this year we stuck to the west side of the island (my parents live on the String, just outside Shiskine) as we weren't up for long. My grandmother used to make tablet :)

Anyway here goes - they're not great but hopefully they give a flavour of Joe's week.

On the ferry going over which was so crowded we just sat on the floor in the lobby. He was as good as gold even though there were five other dogs in the same small area as well as others coming and going:

On the beach at Blackwaterfoot - Joe loved the beach but not the sea:

In the King's Cave where Bruce supposedly saw the spider:

Walking along the shore from the King's Cave to Blackwaterfoot:

Sitting around waiting while the girls built stone cairns on the shore:

Succumbed to curiosity about what the non-rottie part of Joe might be and sent off a DNA test. The results have come back as pure rottweiler - maybe I should send them a photo!

I suspect it's just wrong - they claim pure rottweiler for 3 generations! Not that it matters a bit, I just thought it would be nice to be able to answer more conclusively when people ask what he is. As you say Angie he's still our gorgeous Joe.
